A combination of HEPA filtration and
germicidal irradiation is recommended by CDC as best protection against the
spread of bacteria and virus.
Based on the air velocity and required UV-C
energy we have designed 6" and 10" deep UVGI modules which are easily attached to the inlet side of an OmniAire
HEPA negative air machine when dealing with bio-contaminants.
The UVGI modules use one UV-C germicidal
light and one UV-C/V germicidal/oxidation light which kill bacteria, virus, mold
spores and control chemical/biological odors in moving air. Both UV wavelengths
work together to destroy the bio-contaminant. The UV-C radiation penetrates the
cell’s membrane destroying the cell’s DNA while the UV-V radiation destroys the
chemicals of the dead cell.
The UVGI module should be left on for 10
minutes after the airflow is stopped to ensure that no live bacteria or virus
remain on the surface of the HEPA filter, eliminating cross contamination and
handling hazards.
The 6" deep module is used on the OmniAire 600V and OmniAire 800V machines. These modules come with two 6
1/2" J type UVC Lights.

The 10" deep module is used
on the OmniAire 1000V, OmniAire 1200V, OmniAire 1300v, and OmniAire 2000V. These
modules come standard with two 10 1/2" J type UVC lights, and can be ordered
with four lights for increased intensity if required.
