Formaldehyde is a known carcinogenic substance which is harmful in small
concentrations. The OSHA limit for constant exposure over an 8 hour day for an
adult is 0.75 PPM (parts per million) . This is significant because the odor
threshold or the concentration at which most individuals can smell formaldehyde
is 0.8 PPM This means that, in most cases, if you can smell formaldehyde then you
have exceeded the federal action level and may possibly exceed the exposure
limit if you have prolonged exposure to the odor.
Using the optional carbon filter module or carbon pads our equipment will
effectively remove formaldehyde vapors, along with many other gaseous irritants.
When used in conjunction with the HEPA filter our equipment will also remove
particulates down to the size of .3 microns.
